Toronto, Ontario: July 27, 2022 – Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic is proud to announce that Interpreter Services Toronto is collaborating with OECM (Ontario Education Collaborative Market) as a new Category B – interpretation services Supplier Partner providing translation, interpretation, and American Sign Language (ASL).

Interpreter Services Toronto, the Barbra Schlifer Clinic’s employment social enterprise, was selected through a competitive sourcing process that complies with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive. “As of today, those seeking exceptional interpretation services can do so through the OECM Marketplace, or directly from Interpreter Services Toronto,” says Jehan Chaudry, Director, Interpreter Services and Operations at Barbra Schlifer Clinic.

“The Clinic offers immigrants and refugees access to subsidized language interpretation training to become professional trauma-informed interpreters. It empowers them to develop the skills needed to establish meaningful careers in their new country of residence. The partnership will benefit the overall social cause of supporting more women with increased access to employment opportunities,” says Deepa Mattoo, Executive Director of Barbra Schlifer Clinic.

Ontario Education Collaborative Market is a trusted not-for-profit collaborative sourcing partner for Ontario’s education sector, broader public sector, provincially funded organizations, Crown corporations, and other broader public sector agencies, boards, or commissions. More than 116 publicly funded education institutions, 414 Municipalities, and other publicly funded and not-for-profit Broader Public Sector organizations in Ontario have access to OECM.
